MEMBERS'  BENEFITS

The South Australian Crane Association provides representation to Government Minsters and Government departments, eg Department of Administrative & Information Services, Department of Transport, Workplace Services etc

The Association provides guidance and training on Australian Standards, and Occupational Health and Safety in the Crane Industry.

Members are kept up to date with the current regulations and policy requirements as they apply to the Industry.

The Association is an excellent networking forum for operators in the Industry with regular meetings and training activities.

The Association provides crane safety manuals and maintenance log books to member companies at discounted rates.  Another member benefit, now available (No Charge) are two computer training disks, “ How to Read Crane Load Charts”  - an interactive training aid, and “Crane Operator Training Needs Assessment Templates”.

Association members have the opportunity to join Business SA and get assistance with matters such as WorkCover, Industrial Relations and Occupational Health & Safety, Staff Training and Employer Issues.

In conjunction with the National body the Association is introducing  “CraneSafe” an independent crane inspection system and accreditation regime for crane owners and operators.

Last year the Association conducted “free of charge” a series of Crane Operator Safety Training Sessions, recommended to all Crane Operators/Drivers/Riggers.

The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) is lobbying the National Road Transport Commission and State Road & Traffic Authorities for the easing of permits etc.

CICA is the recognised Crane Industry body with the Australian Customs Service and are playing a key roll in "fair play" of imported second hand cranes and other customs/duty matters.
